Joe completed his studies in Dublin Institute of Technology, Bolton St, Dublin.  He is a Fellow of CIBSE, a Chartered Engineer with The Engineering Council UK, and is a Registered Chartered Consulting Engineer of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland. Joe has over 30 years of experience in mechanical, electrical and sustainable design engineering.  He has been with J.V. Tierney & Co. since 1978 and is now Joint Managing Director of this long established market leading consultancy.  Joe is responsible for business development, project supervision, particularly cost control and quality assurance procedures.

Joe has extensive experience in mechanical and electrical services in all types of buildings, especially in the commercial and healthcare sectors, in high rise buildings both in Ireland and the Middle East.  He is a specialist in the design of air conditioning systems, energy and value engineering studies, mechanical services, building energy management systems, electrical services and fire suppression systems.  He also has vast experience in residential, industrial, sports & leisure and education developments. 

He has been in charge of many sustainable award-winning projects, using the latest sustainable engineering designs and techniques.
