Project Description

The project comprises 28km of high quality dual carriageway built to motorway standard, with a single carriageway link to the main road at Birdhill and the upgrading of 10kms of the Nenagh Bypass to dual carriageway standard. TPE Consulting Engineers were initially employed by Bóthar Hibernian to review the Balancing/Treatment Pond Strategy adopted by their designers Hyder.  TPE Consulting Engineers through consultation with Hyder, the Client’s representative RPS and Shannon Regional Fisheries Board have successfully challenged the designs proposed and have redesigned a number of the ponds.  The ponds incorporate sedimentation forebays then either infiltration basins, sedimentation/detention ponds or constructed wetlands.
